From our very first session, Claire’s relaxed, no-nonsense approach helped me let my guard down. She had an incredible ability to frame situations in a way I hadn’t considered before. Rather than offering prescriptive advice, she asked the right questions and gently challenged my thinking. This helped me reframe some deeply ingrained assumptions and approach leadership scenarios from new, more constructive angles.

HANNAH, ENGINEERING DIRECTOR

Claire is a very experienced and astute professional and has allowed me to have several lightbulb moments to develop my career, my management style and my life goals. Claire’s relaxed style hones in on key self-reflection moments that create a big impact. I recommend Claire to support any executive who wants to see the wood from the trees as they manage their career.

CHRIS, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Coaching with Claire has been a privilege for me and extremely valuable. Not only is her style a great balance of supportive, challenging, and reflective in approach, she is a breath of fresh air with her style and knowledge, and, on top of this, is extremely easy to build rapport and trust with. Sometimes, holding a mirror up to yourself is really tough, and yet, Claire made this enjoyable.

FAQs

Here are some of the questions I’m often asked about coaching. If you’re wondering the same, you’re not alone.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Typical coaching sessions are approximately 60 minutes long and online using Zoom or MS Teams. Every session is bespoke and led by you, focused on your goals and where you want to get to.

Sessions usually take place every 2-4 weeks and I’ll be as flexible as I can to work around the inevitable diary challenges of corporate life.

I’ll ask you to come to the sessions with a clear idea of what you want to focus on and be free from distractions so we can focus and get the most out of our time together.

The key thing to remember is that coaching is an investment in you. For you, your career, your life.  I will support and guide you, challenge you, provide resources and encourage action but ultimately responsibility for action sits with you.

Do I have to book a coaching package, or can I book one-off sessions?

Coaching works best when we have time to really dig beneath the surface. A package of six sessions gives us the space to explore what’s going on for you, uncover the challenges or limiting beliefs that might be holding you back, and create lasting change.

That said, there are times when a one-off session can be exactly what you need. I offer focused 90-minute sessions that are ideal if you’d like to try coaching before committing, if you’re facing a specific challenge you want support with right now, or if a full package isn’t the right option for you financially at the moment.

Is coaching the right choice for me? What's the difference from counselling and therapy?

Whilst coaching, counselling and therapy are all focused on bringing about change there are some important differences. Coaching is all about looking forward to the things you want to achieve and is action-orientated in approach. Therapy and counselling are rooted in exploring the past and often deal with mental health and trauma, involving a very specialised set of skills.

I offer a mix of coaching and mentoring, using my own experience from 20 years in HR in large corporate organisations to help you move forward with the challenges you’re facing at work.

If you’re not sure if coaching is the right thing for you, let’s get on a free 45-minute discovery call and you’ll get a first-hand experience of how a coaching session feels to help you make your decision.

How quickly will I see results?

That depends on what you want to work on. Some clients feel a shift after their very first session, while others notice deeper changes over time. With regular sessions, most people start to see real progress within a few weeks.

Where and when do you coach people?

Most of my coaching takes place online via Zoom or MS Teams, which makes it easy to fit into a busy schedule. There are times when face-to-face sessions feel more appropriate, and if that’s the case we can agree whether to meet in your workplace or at a neutral venue.

Sessions usually happen during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm. That said, I know diaries can be unpredictable, so I’ll always do my best to be flexible if those times don’t work for you.

I'm not a leader. Can you still coach me?

Absolutely. While I often work with leaders who are managing others, many of my clients are at very different stages of their careers. You might be just starting out, a technical specialist, returning to work after a break, considering a career change, or even preparing for retirement. Whatever your situation, coaching can give you the space and support to move forward with clarity and confidence.
