Claire Norburn
As a leadership coach and workplace mediator based in Cheshire, I work with leaders and teams across the UK, navigating tension, change, or challenge – calmly and constructively. My role is to help you unlock your potential, build confidence, and lead with impact.
My Coaching & Mediation Approach
Simplicity & Straight Talking
My coaching is practical, clear, and straight-talking. In leadership coaching and workplace mediation, honest communication builds trust and respect, so I prioritise empathy, clarity, and directness every time.
Human and Real
We’re all human, with strengths, quirks, and imperfections. By embracing what makes us real, we build meaningful relationships and create environments where people feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.
Curiosity Fuels Growth
Curiosity is the spark for development. By asking the right questions, I help leaders shift perspective, tackle obstacles with confidence, and unlock fresh opportunities for growth.
My Story
Why I Chose Leadership Coaching & Conflict Resolution
After 20 years in senior HR roles within Financial Services, I’ve seen first-hand the challenges leaders face – from conflict in the workplace, and the weight of corporate politics, to the pressure to have all the answers. I became a leadership coach and mediator to change that.
Today, I help leaders:
- Navigate self-doubt and imposter syndrome
-
Handle difficult conversations with confidence
-
Lead teams through conflict and change
-
Build presence and influence with senior stakeholders
Together, we’ll create space for honest conversations that cut through the noise.
You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and practical strategies to make a real impact.

Here are some of the most common questions I get asked about leadership coaching and workplace mediation.
FAQs About Leadership Coaching
How does leadership coaching work?
Leadership coaching is a one-to-one process focused on your goals as a leader. We work together in confidential sessions to explore challenges, build new perspectives, and put practical tools into action.
What happens in a coaching session?
Sessions usually last 60-90 minutes and combine reflection, coaching questions, and tools to help you build confidence, improve communication, and strengthen your leadership presence. Each session is tailored to what you need most at the time.
Can I pay for my own leadership coaching, or does it have to be through my organisation?
Both options are possible. Many of my clients are sponsored by their organisation, but I also work with leaders who choose to invest in coaching privately. Either way, the process is the same, you’ll have a confidential space to focus on your goals and challenges as a leader.
Where do you work with clients?
I work with clients across the UK, supporting leaders and teams in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, defence, retail, manufacturing, not for profit, education, and engineering. 1:1 coaching is usually online, so distance is no barrier. Team coaching is best done in person.
How long does it take to see results?
Many leaders notice changes after just a few sessions. For lasting impact, I recommend a coaching programme of several sessions over a few months, so you can apply ideas between sessions and see the progress build.
FAQs About Mediation
When should I bring in a mediator?
Mediation works best when conflict is recognised early, before it escalates into a formal grievance or legal issue. If conversations are stuck, relationships are strained, or tension is affecting the wider team, mediation can provide a constructive way forward.
How does workplace mediation work?
Mediation is a structured process where a neutral mediator facilitates honest, constructive conversations between people in conflict. It creates a safe space for each person to share their perspective, explore the underlying issues, and agree on a way forward.
Is mediation confidential?
Yes. Everything shared in mediation stays confidential between the parties involved. That confidentiality helps build trust, so people feel able to be open and honest.
Where do you offer workplace mediation?
I’m based in Cheshire and often work with organisations across the North West, but I also provide mediation throughout the UK. Mediation is usually best in person, though I also offer online mediation when distance makes that easier.
What happens if mediation doesn’t work?
Mediation has a high success rate, but sometimes agreement isn’t reached. Even then, the process often improves understanding and reduces tension. If needed, HR or management can explore other routes, but mediation usually prevents escalation to formal processes.
Let’s work together through leadership coaching or workplace mediation to unlock potential and tackle the challenges holding you back.
